Every year(since around 1997) after Thanksgiving day we have a family tradition to go up to Mountain Green, to cut down a Christmas tree, instead of go shopping on Black Friday. We have family and friends that comes over early in the morning to have a nice breakfast before we go out.We would go to Papa’s Pines near Mountain Green, which is own by the Kapp’s family. The Christmas tree comes in different shapes and size, most of them need some trimming(So if you are looking for that perfect cone shape tree, you better off going to a lot). Our family, especially the kids love the adventure.Hiking up and down the hill, sliding on snow and drinking hot coco looking for that perfect tree. Everyone helps to pick the tree and than we take a group picture.
So that’s the good news and the bad news is that we were inform that this was their last year. They are closing down the business. It’s kinda sad, we been going there forever.
Conclusion
We will miss the Papa’s Pines Christmas tree farm. We secretly hope that one of the Kapp’s family member will take it over and it will be open again next year.If not we will be trying the Robinson’s Christmas tree farm next year.
