Have you ever had a hard drive gone bad on your workstation?  Have you ever got a virus and it took you weeks to get-up and running again.  Especially the hard drive that is housing your Operating system, drivers and all of your creative software, also known as the C: drive.  You can spend days trying to find drivers and reloading your video editing software and than re-customizing your photoshop’s shortcut, key, brushes, etc.  You know what I’m talking about…we all have been there.  Time is money right?  So why not invest in a hard drive cloning device and save yourself a headache.

For only$37, you can get a Inateck USB 3.0 to SATA Dual-Bay USB 3.0 Hard Drive Docking Station and it has a built in cloning button.  When you are done cloning the hard-disk, you can us it as an external USB hard drive.

Its super easy to use.  First you put your master drive in the A: slot.  Secondly you put the backup drive in B: slot.  Than you hold down the “clone” button for 6 second and then release it, the blue light will come on.  Finally you hit the clone button again and off you go!  When it’s all done the blinking blue light will go solid, it’s next to the 100% mark.

I did 1TB and it only took about 3.5 hours, not too bad!

I have been wanting to back up my Operating System drive for a long time, Now I’ve done it!  The feeling of peace of mind and knowing you can just swap a new drive in just a few minutes and you are up and back to business, is Priceless!

Now you don’t have an excuse not to back up.  What do you use to back up your drive?  Please post your comment below.
