Dave asked me to take his family portrait this past weekend and I was happy to accepted… They wanted a lake background, so we headed to Pineview reservoir. A spot were I have been before, that has some cool trees, rock, floating logs and most importantly shade. The drive up there was very pretty, I enjoy seeing the hot air balloons during their the “Hot air balloon festival”. The weather at the lake was perfect, between 70 and 80 degrees. So we walked along the beach until we found an interesting log as a backdrop to beak up the boring water pattern. I had with me…my trusty 85mm on my D7000 slinging by my side. A bag with a stand, Westcott Rapid Box 26″ Octa Softbox
and a Nikon SB-700 AF Speedlight Flash , And here’s what I came up with…
